I think it's far to say that the landscape of British comedy would be very different if Stewart Lee had not of come along. When I talk to my comedy-contemporaries, his name is always listed as a major influence.

A little bit about Stewart Lee:
These days, Stewart Lee is best known as the co-writer and director of London's ground breaking, critically acclaimed London theatre hit, Jerry Springer - The Opera, but comedy fans have long known him as a staple of the UK stand-up scene. One of the most respected figures of British comedy, Stewart has consistently been a cutting edge talent, whether working as a writer, comedian or director, and was recently voted 'Britain's Tenth Funniest Man' by the UK edition of Esquire magazine.

With a new series of 'Comedy Vehicle' is in the making, Stewart is one of the brightest stars of comedy.
